When friends let you down

When friends let you down,
You always feel sad.
Then if you retaliate,
You really feel bad!

You, Lord, say that's a no-no.
It's Your job to judge.
It's us that they hurt,
But their name they smudge.

You want me to forgive . . . .
Okay, Lord, that's done.
Now You're telling me what?
It's I that have won!?

This one thing I really know.
Forgiveness cleanses my heart.
Now I can better praise You.
It gives me a new start!

Lord, Your love is there eternally,
And so thankful am I.
That I will live in Your presence
Up there in the sky!

I know I'm not worthy
Of all the love You bestow.
But I'll be forever grateful,
Lord, I do love You so!
